Farming Cooperative

The founders of the Farm School feel a great need to teach to teach valuable living skills, while developing innovative programs to the public intended to support sustainable living. With our gift of foresight, we anticipate a great need for these living skills in the coming years. Our goal is to be fully sustainable and to teach valuable skills that we predict will be increasingly relevant to living in the coming day and age. It has been just over 100 years and our entire society relies on electricity, washing machines, vehicles, cell phones, just to name a few. It is our belief that these conveniences won't necessarily be around forever, and that basic living skills will hold ever-increasing value in the years to come.

Basic skills such as: how to make a cook fire; how to grow food; how to cook and preserve food; are traditions that, if not passed down, would be lost with antiquity. In our modern world of convenience, most people do not possess basic farm-living skills. Our kids may need these skills in a world that goes through changes, and would potentially cause our modern conveniences to be out-moded or suddenly un-workable. Computers can't feed people or keep them warm; cellphones can't till the soil or irrigate the seeds. And though quite entertaining, ipods don't help heat the home in the cold of winter. We are here to provide a place to learn these things, and have fun doing it. Triple H Farm School is a sanctuary for all to come and enjoy.

A beautiful section of the farm has a South facing gentle hill, full of fertile soil that ia in the path of a spring that naturally irrigates the soil. In this fertile valley, water abounds and all the necessary elements of sustainable living are present. There is a spring-fed irrigation pond just above the garden area. A stone spring house lies about 100 feet above the garden area. As of this writing, we are creating a garden and we expect to have a 25x50 greenhouse constructed by the fall of 2007.

We are seeking individuals who would like to be a part of creating an exciting and fun project. The rewards would certainly outweigh the investment of time, money, or resources, as we are in the earliest stages of this part of the farm. All who take part in the farm cooperative will have access to all the fresh organic vegetables they can eat as well as pure, spring water and good, clean fun (aka farm-work). Additionally, the production of cash crops will be considered.

Contact us to converse with Chris, Shanti or Tony in regards to the farming co-op program.
