Meet the Horses

Louie seen here with Shanti
Louie, the ultimate lesson horse
Louie: Louie came to us in 2005 with split hooves and an indifferent attitude towards people. He had been neglected and received very little attention for over three years. Although formally trained in dressage, Louie prefers teaching and trail rides. He is a sweet natured and gentle Thoroughbred Gelding. He loves children and being groomed.

Rambo: Rambo is a 22 year old Arabian Gelding given to Chris in 2004. His history was one of abuse and neglect during his earlier yars. He was trained formally in Western pleasure, but he prefers an English saddle or bareback pad. He has recovered from most of his misuse and loves to teach. He is a perfect gentleman in the ring and will let anyone ride him. On the trail he becomes Mr. Endurance and will go forever, if we let him.

Sunny: Sunny is our latest addition to the farm. She is a 22 year old racking horse mare. She is still recovering from a traumatic experience where she lost her newborn baby to a bear during birth. She is gaining weight and muscle. She loves to go on the trail and especially loves children.

Tango: Tango was rescued from a Premarin factory in Canada. Pregnant mare urine is extracted and manufactured to make hormones for post-menopausal women. The offspring are considered by-products and are often killed off. Chris found him in a run down pasture, skinny and scared. At 15’3” and 1200 lbs, he has done well and is currently under saddle being trained for lessons and possibly open showing in the future. He is an attention monger and prefers to spend more time with humans than the other horses.
